What is FCC certification in the United States?
The full name of FCC is Federal Communications Commission, which means the Federal Communications Commission of the United States in Chinese. Established in 1934 under the Communications Act, it is an independent agency of the United States government directly responsible to Congress. The FCC coordinates domestic and international communication by controlling radio broadcasting, television, telecommunications, satellites, and cables. FCC certification is a mandatory certification for electronic products exported to the United States. Below, the editor of CNQI Inspection will give you a brief introduction to FCC certification!
Why do I need to apply for FCC certification?
The FCC certification in the United States is a mandatory certification system established by the US government to protect consumer rights, maintain communication order, and safeguard national security. Any wireless communication device sold, used, or imported within the United States requires FCC certification to ensure compliance with US communication regulations, technical standards, and security requirements.
Through FCC certification, wireless communication devices can obtain legal listing qualifications, thereby gaining better sales opportunities in the US market. Meanwhile, FCC certification is also one of the important reference factors for consumers when choosing wireless communication devices, providing consumers with guarantees of device performance, safety, and compliance.

What are the types of FCC certification?
Currently, FCC certification in the United States can be divided into two categories: FCC SDoC and FCC ID. On November 2, 2017, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of the United States officially announced that in order to simplify the certification process for wireless device equipment and clarify the use of electronic tags, the DoC&VoC program has been officially changed to SDoC.
From November 2, 2017 to November 2, 2018, this year is a transitional operation period. During this transitional period, FCC VoC and DoC certification programs can continue to be used, or new FCC SDoC certification programs can be used. After a one-year transition period, the FCC SDoC certification process will officially replace the original FCC VoC and DoC certification methods.
